support local.

Found this posting on black eiffel and thought we would help spread the word. We are huge believers in shopping locally and supporting small businesses. They are what make the retail market interesting and being a boutique design company ourselves, can appreciate how much it means when you have the support of your community. It's nice to know when you are making your purchases or choosing a local provider of services that you are also helping to support someones dream.

A few of our favorite local businesses that we HAD to mention:

Nest in Mystic, CT - I love everything in there! Home decor, clothing, jewelry, books...the list goes on and on.

Bruna's Table in Westerly, RI - Our new favorite place to eat downtown. A quaint Italian Trattoria with wonderful ambiance, friendly service and delicious food. We love their philosophy of supporting local growers and using green friendly organic and natural products. A wonderful new addition to the other established restaurants in this town.

RJ Julia's Booksellers in Madison, CT - An independent book store that goes beyond your expectations. They host every imaginable author for wonderful events and book signings, have the most eclectic mix of everything you can possibly want and wonderful recommendations for those who aren't quite sure what to get for themselves or as a gift. Their goal is to always put the right book in the right hand. The cafe in the back of the store is the perfect place to start that new book and relax with a cup of tea and a delicious treat.

A.K. Dasher Jewelry in Stonington, CT - The most incredible selection of sterling silver jewelry from around the world at the most affordable prices. The staff is incredibly friendly and it is the perfect place to find gifts that any woman would treasure. Just make sure to pick up something for yourself as well!
