green friday, green friendly wine.

We adore wine...big fans.  What really impresses us are wineries that are not only able to make a fantastic, complex vino, but to grow and produce it organically (no herbicides, pesticides or fungicides) and responsibly as well. One of my absolute favorite Napa Valley producers is Frog's Leap in Rutherford.  Their philosophy for growing grapes, "what is rooted is easy to nourish" is a wonderful metaphor for our lives as a whole. The practice that a healthy, well-nourished vine produces a more flavorful, better balanced and longer lived wine is what we are reminded of with each pop of the cork. They create a quality wine from what nature gives them, and then return that gift by giving back to the environment.

Not only do they farm organically, but they run their winery off 100% solar powered energy. And as if that wasn't enough, since they are able to produce more energy than they consume, they are able to sell excess electricity back to the power company in essence becoming a responsible energy provider.

Reduce, reuse, recycle, renew, retain and revere are the mantras for Frog's Leap.

What better reason to lift your glass? ¡Salud!

(Another favorite of dreamscapes design group is the wonderful Bonterra hailing from the Russian River region. Another responsible choice that will delight your palate!)
